2024 Hartford Youth Data Fellows Showcase Projects at Community Data Walk

On May 20, 2024 the Hartford Data Collaborative hosted its annual Hartford Data Walk. The ten 2024 Hartford Youth Data Fellows (HYDF) presented data projects related to library engagement, home ownership, and the impact of evictions in Hartford. The Data Walk showcases the youth fellows' work and promotes data engagement among community members around key issues in Hartford.

2024 Hartford Youth Data Fellowship Open for Applications!

Attention Hartford youth! The Hartford Data Collaborative has opened its application for Hartford youth to join HDC starting in January 2024. The Hartford Youth Data Fellowship is a 5-month data training and community-based project development program for Hartford students as part of the Hartford Data Collaborative. The program is designed to increase data literacy and analysis skills for high school seniors and college students and improve their confidence in interpreting data and sharing their insights with others. These skills and experiences will serve youth in their college and career explorations and provide an analytic foundation for youth interested in using data to make an impact in the Hartford community.

Hartford Youth Data Fellows Lead Spring 2023 Data Walk

CTData’s Hartford Data Collaborative and the Hartford Youth Data Fellows held a Data Walk on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 4:30-6:30pm at CTData’s office in downtown Hartford. Eight Youth Fellows presented data on children & youth, community safety, education, and mental health services: Yandell Alvarez, Naieem Kelly, Nasere Lewin, Syree Little, Rhaili-Em Lowe, Isaiah Perez, Khamari Thornton, and Tatiana Watson. Members of the community, including representatives from community-based organizations, local businesses, and foundations, attended and engaged in discussions with the youth about their findings.
