Join Us in Demanding an Accurate Census Count
A lot is going on in our lives right now, but we hope you will take 5 minutes to join us to support a fair and accurate census count.
Like you, we at CTData care about an accurate count in Census 2020. There is funding, representation, and data at stake.
We are concerned that the U.S. Census Bureau has recently shortened the timeline for the decennial count and that Congress isn’t funding census operations at a level that meets the needs in Connecticut and other states.
Due to Covid-19, door-to-door enumeration was delayed, leaving our state with even less time to get an accurate count. These changes have resulted in low self-response in many locations. For example, only 1 in 4 households in Hartford has filled out their census form, and across Connecticut, only 35 of our 169 towns have reached their 2010 self-response rate. Door-to-door enumeration—which takes time and funding—is required at an unprecedented level to ensure an accurate count.
Please join us in requesting that Congress take action to ensure a fair and accurate count. It will take less than 5 minutes.
We have written a letter and would like you to add your name in support of these actions.
Please add your name by the end of the day on Tuesday, August 11.
Thanks for your support!
