Get Your Data House in Order

Let’s work together to build a realistic plan so your team has access to the high-quality data they need.

Trusted by nonprofits with data needs.

As a nonprofit, we know what it means to be dedicated to a mission, and how challenging decisions can be when we don’t have the data we need to inform them. We have also supported thousands of Connecticut professionals so they can use data for good.

And we understand the frustration of needing to use data to help you fund and improve your important work, but not knowing how to move forward.

CTData staff have a passion for data collection, evaluation and outcomes and they have shared their knowledge in a way that can be easily understood and implemented….We look forward to working with CTData in the future.

Data Strategic Planning moves you from…

How does it work?

Data Strategic Planning involves a series of workshops, consultations, and homework that gives you the tools and skills to develop a Data Strategic Plan. Similar to a Strategic Plan, your Data Strategic Plan gives you information so you can make informed decisions to improve your data collection, analysis, and communication. Here’s what it looks like.

Phase I: Building a Framework for a Data Strategic Plan

Duration: 5 Months

A series of interactive learning labs during which your team learns data literacy concepts so they can complete "homework" focused on developing the foundational components of a Data Strategic Plan.

CTData provides 1:1 consultations between the learning labs to trouble-shoot and ensure you have the information you need to create their foundational documents.

Phase II: Implementing Your Data Strategic Plan

Duration: 6 Months

Phase III is where you start making changes to your data systems and structures based on your plan. CTData provides monthly coaching to assist your implementation of your Data Strategic Plan. CTData assists with data improvement practices such as testing and implementing new measurement tools, researching best practices, and helping your team think about how to adjust you systems to collect additional data.

Phase III: Developing Your Data Strategic Plan

Duration: 5 Months

CTData provides twice-monthly coaching and technical assistance as they create their Data Strategic Plans. This phase includes several cohort meetings during which participants will receive training on creating and finding measurement tools, conducting data analysis and communicating results. This training will increase participants' data capacity, so their plan's design will be of high quality and actionable.

Phase IV: Tracking and Monitoring Implementation

Duration: 5 Months

CTData will track and monitor the progress of your organization’s implementation of your Plan. We will meet monthly to help you tweak your Plan to ensure the measurement processes are informing decision-making.

What Participants Say

Based on our 2022 cohort, we found that 94% of respondents to our Phase I survey had more confidence in their data literacy skills than before this service. In addition, most respondents also experienced the benefits that we promised when they signed-up for the service.
