Data for Everybody: Ethical Practices, Equitable Solutions

CTData Conference 2020

UPDATE: Review the conference round-up blog post here, or you can watch day one and day two recorded on CT-N.

On November 9th & 10th, 2020, “data people” will convene online to:

  • learn how to meaningfully engage the community and apply ethical and equitable data practices,

  • hear about ongoing initiatives to address inequities through data in Connecticut,

  • develop new connections with other data users.

This year’s conference explores the intersection of equity and ethics in data to help data users in Connecticut integrate these principles and practices into our daily data work.

Whether you are a decision-maker and need to understand how to use the results from data exploration, or are a data person and need to identify new skills and data sets to inform your work, this conference will offer these opportunities.

What to Expect

This virtual conference will be held online using technology you’ve become familiar with: Zoom meetings for the workshops and Slack for attendees who wish to connect with other conference-goers.

While specific workshop times will be released as we move closer to the conference, the conference will occur on November 9-10, 2020 from 11 am-4 pm (with a break from 12-1 for lunch) using just one Zoom link. See the working conference titles and descriptions below.

We will be integrating two sessions where you will have the chance to meet other data users during our networking breakouts from 2:15-2:45 each day. Since the conference is free, please do not register if you cannot attend. None of the sessions will be recorded.

Once you sign up you will start receiving notifications from us about the conference, how to join the sessions, and how to join your fellow data people in the Slack Workspace.
