Join Us for Our Upcoming Virtual Events!
If you're reading this, you might need a break.
COVID-19 has left many of us feeling disconnected, anxious, and exhausted. This pandemic has forced us to rebuild our daily lives as we balance our work to help those most affected while also caring for ourselves and our loved ones. We may feel like we have to do everything and nothing all at once.
Redefining normal looks differently for everyone, including us at CTData. To help us all connect, learn, and support each other during this time, we're moving some of our upcoming events online. Whether you'd like to build skills, share resources, or connect with others, join us for one of our virtual events below.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 20 (ONLINE): This workshop will provide general guidelines and practices in survey design, including for customer surveys and evaluative surveys, and will provide you with the knowledge and skills to help you create better surveys. Please note there is a supplemental webinar series for this workshop that begins on May 6.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 20 (ONLINE): Missing connecting with other data lovers during the stay-at-home order? Join us virtually for CTData's second Women in Data Happy Hour! This is an informal networking event for data lovers to support and learn from each other, share resources, and meet who else is doing cool work around the state. Although we are looking to encourage more women in data professionals across the state since this is an underrepresented group, this event is open to data lovers and users of all genders.
TUESDAY, JUNE 9 (ONLINE): In this quarterly meetup of data professionals from the Greater Hartford region, we hear from data users and producers about their current and future work. This is a great opportunity to expand your social network and connect to data users in the Greater Hartford region. Each meeting will focus on a specific data topic so that users can come prepared to share resources and ideas, with the intent of developing a broader repository of public data tools. The June event will focus on workforce development data and projects.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10 (ONLINE): Join us for an informal, virtual lunchtime discussion where you will have a chance to talk with other data users about questions such as: How can we identify blind spots in our own data collection? How can we partner with those we seek to serve in our data collection and analysis process? How can we improve our practices to reduce the likelihood that we will harm the people we seek to help through our data collection?
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24 (ONLINE): This is the CTData Academy's introductory session designed to expand data literacy. Participants come away with a greater understanding of data collection and analysis and a more critical eye towards data encountered in everyday life.
