Ilya Ilyankou joins CTData as Civic Technologist
Ilya Ilyankou has joined the Connecticut Data Collaborative as a Civic Technologist. Ilyankou graduated from Trinity College in Hartford in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a double major in Computer Science and Studio Arts. He also spent a year abroad at Oxford University, where his studies included machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data visualization.
At CT Data, Ilyankou works to increase the accessibility of open public data, create data visualizations, and develop web-based tools that present data in new ways.
CT Data Executive Director Michelle Riordan-Nold said that Ilyankou “will be a tremendous asset in advancing our work to make data more accessible, more usable, and more integrated in decision-making in the public and private sector in Connecticut. He joins an outstanding team of professionals who are helping to build an ecosystem of data users across the state and improve data literacy.”
At Trinity College, Ilyankou was President of the Computer Science Club and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) chapter, and was a teaching assistant for Trinity's Mobile Computing with App Inventor edX course. He was also a Data Visualization Intern with the Connecticut Data Collaborative. Ilyankou is a native of Belarus, and resides in Hartford.
