Conference 2022: Coffee with CTData

CTData has been busy this year, growing and offering more products and services that can help you with making sound decisions with data. During this conference session, we talk about the resources and projects we’ve been working on. Watch the video and access all the links shared below the video. And head on over to the 2022 Conference Hub for links to recordings and resources from the other sessions.

Census State Data Center

You can explore our State Data Center page, our Census 2020 Data Hub, and our Data by Topic page, among others.

Have a data question? Reach out via the Data Helpline. You can ask things such as:

  • I am looking for poverty data for Hartford and surrounding towns for 2019 and 2020.

  • How has remote working in Connecticut changed during the pandemic?

  • I am working on a grant for X, where is the best place to find data about A, B, and C?

Data & Data Projects

We have updated several of our Interactive Data Projects with ACS 2020 5-year data, including

  • Housing Portal

  • Nursing Data Portal provides data in Supply, Education, and Demand for Nurses in Connecticut.

  • Regional Data Stories will walk you through who lives here, who works here, about some of their educational experiences, and health outcomes.

  • SEOW Prevention Portal brings together Connecticut’s epidemiological data in support of a comprehensive public health approach to substance abuse prevention and health promotion.

Also, the Connecticut Evictions Map is an interactive map that gets updated regularly and allows you to see where residential evictions happen in Connecticut.

Integrated Data Systems

Integrated data are linked datasets of administrative data about individuals collected from different sources or agencies using common data fields (SSN, name, date of birth).

  • The Hartford Data Collaborative is a network of Hartford area non-profit agencies, Hartford city agencies, state agencies, and philanthropic partners that facilitate data sharing and data linking between human service agencies.

  • Hartford Youth Data Fellows is a 5-month data and research training fellowship program for Hartford youth. Applications opening for the January 2023 cohort!

  • The Civic Data Program is a new a program we are offering to Connecticut’s community colleges and technical schools.

  • We offer customized workshops. We work with organizations to customize our workshops using your data. Book a consultation with us to talk about your needs.

Consulting & Contracted Projects

We offer consulting services to support informed decision-making in your organization. Examples include:

  • We are working with Bridgeport prospers, assisting them with gathering and understanding data across sectors. We’re looking at what can we learn from Medicaid data on young children's developmental progress.

  • Improving the quality of data products by increasing data capacity and developing data tools for Community Action Agencies in Connecticut. We are working through DSS to support CAAs to improve the quality of their Comprehensive Community Needs Assessments.

  • Creating interactive data platforms. We partnered with the Partnership for Strong Communities to make their 2020 Housing Profiles interactive and have recently updated them with the most recent ACS data.
