CTData Forum: Migration in CT

Event Details

When: Sept. 19, 2016 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: 805 Brook St, Building 4, Rocky Hill, CT

Event Description

Migration - a frequent topic discussed in the media with conflicting opinions about the impact. What are the implications for the future of our state and economy?

  • What happens to graduates of all colleges in the state (public and private) after they graduate?
  • What are the effects of taxes on migration?
  • What is the effect of net out-migration on the state's economy?

CTData is convening a forum to discuss the pressing questions facing policymakers -- starting with migration as the first topic area of focus. At the first meeting we'll discuss what research already exists, what's needed, and how to move forward with answering the pressing policy questions facing our state.

Goals:

  1. Enumerate the questions and issues
  2. Identify what research already exists
  3. Determine what data are needed
  4. Develop a research agenda
